PC AND BLEND

Polycarbonate compounds:

Polycarbonates with high strength against impact and brittleness are an excellent choice for plastic lenses in eyewear, in medical devices, automotive components, protective gear, greenhouses, Digital Disks (CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray), and exterior lighting fixtures and food and beverage containers. Due to its unique features, polycarbonate is in the category of widely used engineering plastics, ReMo Company is proud to present this valuable polymer.

Introduction

Polycarbonate alloys:

Polycarbonate is a hard, amorphous and transparent thermoplastic with high performance, which features such as

  • High impact strength
  • High dimensional stability
  • Good electrical properties amongst others

It has turned it into a unique polymer

Since PC has shown excellent compatibility polymers, it is widely used in PC/PET – PC/ABS – PC/PMMA mixtures.

PC/ABS alloy is used for applications that require high thermal resistance. Polycarbonate/polyester alloy is used for applications that require chemical resistance. For example, polycarbonate/polybutylene terephthalate (PC/PBT) alloy has a higher chemical resistance than PET/PC alloy, Because PBT has a higher crystal behavior, but it will give PC a higher chemical resistance compared to PET.

Application of polycarbonate:

Application of polycarbonate in home appliances: Polycarbonate and its alloys are used in home appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, coffee machines, food mixers, washing machines, hair dryers  etc.

Due to its transparency and light weight, polycarbonate is used to create a beautiful and high-performance design, reduce the weight of the car and thus improve its aerodynamic performance. Also, due to the high thermal resistance, it can be used in the headlight housing and other parts of the car.

Polycarbonate is used in direct contact with food and beverages due to its heat resistance, crushing resistance, and ability to comply with health regulations. Food containers made of polycarbonate are reusable, help maintain freshness, protect food from contamination, and can be easily used in the refrigerator or microwave.
